As the pictures above show, we offer many fun filled activities! Everything from VBS (Vacation Bible School), Jr. Youth Church Camp, Trunk or Treating, Ray's Crossing day auction and ham/bean dinner, Christmas caroling at local nursing homes, Christmas programs, Youth lead worship services, Psalm Sunday services, Easter services, Easter egg hunts, outdoor baptisimal and worship services, Wednesday evening family dinners, Family movie night, and pitch in meals (one of our favorite activities).
Christian Union Women's Fellowship
This is a group for ladies of any age. This group meets the first Thursday evening of August, October, December, February, April, and June. The meetings begin at 7 p.m. with devotionals, refreshments, and women's fellowship. This group sponsors many worthy events throughout the year including church camp for our kids! Join the fun and make a difference today!
Jr. Youth Church Camp
This is a four day camp for kids ages 7-15 years old. Campers stay in cabins at Camp Woodsmoke in Clarksburg, IN. Campers learn about Christ's life and love through activities such as games, nature hikes, campfire circles, praise services, small group lessons, and meals. Campers are treated to an afternoon of swimming near the end of camp. Meals are served by our outstanding kitchen staff three times daily, along with bedtime snacks. Church camp meets during the middle of June each summer...a time to treasure old friends and make new ones along the way! Contact us for more information on camp or to register for the next session.
Vacation Bible School
This week long themed event provides your child age 3-12 with a look at how Christ served others and how even today we can be Christ like and serve others too! Children learn about serving through crafts, games, skits, lessons, song, magic, missions, and yes, even meal and snack time! VBS is held during the month of July during the evening and fellowship is shared with two other neighboring churches! At the end of the week a musical program is held to share with our neighbors, family, and friends the lessons we have learned all week! Join us as an adult volunteer or a youthful learner...Contact us for dates and times!
Family Dinner Night
As life gets ever so busy with running our kids here and there and everywhere...we are bringing family dinner time back! Each Wednesday we serve dinner pitch-in style and spend time around the table fellowshipping with each other. Dinner is served at 6:30pm and sometimes we even watch a family movie! Visiting with each other over meal time is so important...come check out what's being served up next!
Holiday Services and Programs
During the passing of each year some of our favorite times are the holiday programs and worship services (and the meals)! A special musical program is always held near the time of Christmas and Easter with everyone participating. It is a showcase of talent so to speak! We encourage anyone and everyone to share with us by way of an instrumental piece, a song, a scripture/poem reading, or even a magic trick or two! An afternoon pitch-in meal is held between Thanksgiving and Christmas to observe the two holidays. It is always comforting to see so many good cooks in our church...and even better when you see them bring your favorite dishes to share! At Easter we offer a sunrise service with breakfast to follow the service in place of Sunday School and then the hunt is on for EGGS! Join us for the holidays...we would love to see you there!
Quarterly Fundraiser Meals
Twice during the year we have a free love offering evening meal. The menu changes each time, but some of our favorites are the chili cook offs and the lasagna dinners! Twice through the year we also have free love offering breakfasts that offer a filling menu. Scrambled eggs, biscuits, sausage gravy, sausage patties, hashbrowns, chocolate milk, white milk, orange juice, and coffee. These fundraisers help fund special projects like Christmas for deployed soldiers and their families, holiday cheer baskets for home bound members or nursing home patients, to aide in missions projects like digging water wells in Africa, providing solar radios to share the word of Christ, building radio station towers in foreign lands, and our most recent project...Motorcycle Sunday School in Madagascar!
5th Sunday Youth Lead Worship Services
Each quarter there falls a 5th Sunday on the calender, so we like to hand the reins over to our youth! In place of Sunday School we serve breakfast downstairs and have fellowship time around the table. Eggs cooked to order, smoke sausage, pancakes, pastries, biscuit and sausage gravy, milk, juice, and coffee. Each time we rotate who sponsors the food and who does the cooking...our men like to take their turn in the kitchen and boy aren't us women glad they do! Then, we head upstairs to see our youth lead our hymns, sing special music, read scripture, lead us in call to worship, perform object lessons involving magic, run the sound board, pass out bulletins, and they have even been known to do the sermon. When a youth can't be found for this job...the messages those days are geared for our youth, but are easily enjoyed by folks of all ages!
